Sunday is the last chance for the L.A. Galaxy to secure their position for the playoffs after their tie on Thursday against the New York Red Bulls. The tie does mean they still have a chance, albeit an occurrence of which many are skeptical. David Beckham was back for the game yet, as all those who are realistic assumed, his appearance did not suddenly give us a top notch, all pistons firing Galaxy match.
Often when Beckham did try to help his team, the less than spectacular ball skills of some of his teammates wasted the good he attempted to accomplish. In fact it was once again the team’s undisputed leader, Landon Donovan who assisted Troy Roberts in heading home the first goal of the match.
L.A. Galaxy play the Chicago Fire this coming Sunday, 21 October 2007 (check your local listings for time and channel) where a win is imperative or the game will end the season for them.
