Los Angeles Maladroits (Clippers) Going Nowhere Fast

December 11th, 2007 Written by: Bryan· 1 Comment

Clippers-07-12-07The poor old Clippers are at it again, stumbling their way through December on their way to becoming one of the more inept teams in the West. If it weren’t for a Garnettless Minnesota team and an inexperienced Sonics, the Clippers would be at the bottom of the list. While Minnesota is just 3-16 they did beat Phoenix this past week, and one of the five Sonics victories came courtesy of the Clips, so they really are starting to make their case regardless. This is a team that started 4-0. They are 3-12 since and after losing to Miami have dropped 8 of their last 9. How do you lose 8 of your last 9 with Paul Davis AND Kobe Stopper on your roster?

The Miami game was a comedy scattered with missed lay-ups and fourth quarter mistakes. The only time an NBA player should miss a lay-up is if he accidentally makes eye contact with Frankie Muniz on his way to the hoop. Corey Magette had his own explanation after the game. “I think its bad luck, and I’m not a person who believes in bad luck.” Translation: Child actors who have recently entered an awkward young adult stage tend to distract me. Is Frankie even going to these games or is he filming Agent Cody Banks 3? More importantly, does Penny Marshall still show up for games…because if she does that’s a lethal combo.

If not for an injury to Elton Brand, the Clippers might have been competing for a playoff spot and lets stress might because its clear that the best they can hope for at the moment is to stay competitive and play .500 basketball until Brand returns in February or possibly March.

The lone bright spot for the Clips continues to be the play of Chris Kaman Island who is averaging 18.5 points and 13.6 rebounds while making a bid for the league MIP. Its too bad the Clippers are wasting his effort on complete and total mediocrity…maybe worse. Losing 8 of your last 9 games is bad, but looking to the crowd to find support in the form of Penny Marshall or Frankie Muniz is worse. So in light of this fact alone, please continue to support the Kamanittes, at least until they go on a 15 game losing streak. A 15 game losing streak is the cutoff, and we support cutting your support after that.

Dude thats an old ass picture, Vladimir Radmanovic is there. He hasn’t been with the team in two years! I know you love Chris’s mullet but let it go! There not going to be a 500 team. The good news for the Clippers fan your in the Lottery, you have a good chance in getting one of the awsome freshman. Maybe OJ.
