After all this state has had to do to make medical marijuana legal, a bunch of jack-asses decide to try and mess it up. And when I say jack-asses I should be more specific, I’m talking about the four people who got arrested on Sunday for connections to the robbery of Golden State Collective, Jose Carlos Meza, 20, Carlos Rodriguez, 21, Stephanie Avila, 19, and Lisa Annette Gutierrez, 22. All of whom are from the Los Angeles area and should know better! As for the other robbers from the same day, be ashamed of yourself.
The takeover-style robbery at the Golden State Collective, 10369 Balboa Blvd. in Granada Hills, occurred about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
On the same day as the incident at the Golden State Collective, another takeover went down at a marijuana dispensary on Cahuenga Boulevard in North Hollywood, Murrell said. It did not appear to be related to the Granada Hills case.
The holdups marked at least the 12th and 13th robberies of Valley medical marijuana dispensaries in the last two years, according to Los Angeles Police Department statistics.
Because of idiots like this LAPD and communities are starting to get worried that these facilities are causing their neighborhoods to be unsafe. There are over 400 known shops that sell legal marijuana in California and a lot more that aren’t advertised, and the people are right, they are not safe places.
Besides the 13 robberies, there have been at least 63 violent or major property crimes committed at these facilities in the last two years.
During the Granada Hills heist, one shot was fired, ricocheting off the floor and breaking a window. No one was injured, but the robbers took $10,000 in cash and up to four pounds of marijuana. [Full Story]
