  • Schwarzenegger loved by the people no matter what - Apparently voters still like our Governator (I don’t know why). A new poll shows that even though they think the state is headed in the wrong direction, they still approve of Schwarzenegger. Even after presenting the proposed financial cuts on our schools, health care programs and other state services 60% of of voters still think he’s a good Governor.
  • Brad Renfro was found dead in his LA home - Renfro, best known for his roles in “The Client,” “Ghost World,” and, “Apt Pupil,” was found by his girlfriend, with no suspicions of foul play. Renfro was busted two hears ago on Christmas day on skid row and admitted to using both heroine and methadone. The cause of his death is currently unknown.
  • IndyMac Bancorp Inc. slashes it’s work force by 25% - IndyMac said today that they will be laying of 2,403 employees to try to ride out the worsening housing slump that is currently taking place. “This action is clearly painful, but it is necessary in our drive to return Indymac to profitability soon,” Mike Perry, IndyMac’s chief executive, said in a memo outlining the layoffs to employees.
  • Two-story apartment building of Park La Brea goes up in flames - At 2:21 p.m smoke was reported, 120 firefighters rushed to the scene, and by 3:45 p.m they were able to extinguish the fire. Nearby buildings were evacuated, but it was not confirmed is anyone was still inside or injured.
  • Crooks pretending to be firefighters to get “donations” - People are so eager to help the fire department, they give without question, and scam artists are taking advantage of it. The LAFD has issued a statement saying that they will NEVER call people at home and ask for money. If you do wish to give a donation go directly to their site, call them at 1-800-244-3439 ext. 14215 or go directly to the fire station.
