With Senator Barack Obama leading the Democrats to LA, with a two day visit, they will all be here by tomorrow. Obama will be participating in many events while in LA. The first of which is a Roundtable and the second is an expensive fundraiser. Recently, Obama has stated that “The American dream is slipping out of reach for many families whose paychecks aren’t meeting the increased costs of their medical bills and tuition payments,”and he has come to talk about these issues.
Obama will be in Van Nuys today to hold an invitation only “Roundtable of Economic Opportunity” at home of Mimi Vitello, one of his long time supporters, to discuss his plans for economic change. Just three days ago he announced a $75 billion plan to help the economy…
…including giving an immediate $250 tax cut for workers and their families; a $250 bonus to senior citizens in their Social Security checks; an additional $250 to both workers and Social Security recipients if the economy continues to worsen; aid to states hit hardest by the housing downturn and extending and expanding unemployment benefits.
There will also be a fundraiser for $2,300- per person (the largest amount allowed to be donated) in Pacific Palisades later today.
From not until the 5th there are MANY Obama events you can attend. If you want to attend at event, go to his website and find one near you!
Tomorrow, Clinton will be in the San Fernando Valley to hold her own Roundtable as well as many other events that will be followed up with later today. You can check out her list of scheduled stops on her website.
Also, tomorrow, John Edwards will be in downtown Los Angeles, as part of his tour through both red and blue states in attempts to win the hearts of California after finishing second in Iowa and third in New Hampshire. Check out his website for more details.
