- Alfred the blind seal can now be seen at the LA Zoo (although he can’t see you) - Alfred was rescued a year an a half ago from the New Jersey coast. At the time he weighed 90 lbs (of the usual 300) because he could not catch fish. Now at nearly 200 pounds, Alfred has shown that aside from being blind he is completely healthy and seems to be having no problems with the lady seals (If ya know what I mean).
- Two males robbed a lingerie stole, leaving the expensive clothing behind for a bit of cash - If only the two men who robbed Secret Desires lingerie store, off Sherman Way and White Oak, would have known that the real money was in what they had left behind. Officers confiscated a stolen silver Ford Explorer that was believed to be used in the robbery and are currently looking for the unnamed suspects.
- A jury found apartment complex liable in raping and killing of tenant - LA Superior Court found the Burbank apartment owner liable for the death of Sharon Santos who was raped, killed, and then stuffed in the trunk of a car left in Chinatown. Eriberto Rodriguez, 46, was hired as a maintenance man, despite the fact they knew he had been convicted of sexual battery, possession, and burglary in the past.
- Rape and kidnapping fugitive found - Raul Alderet, 28, was arrested in Riverside on Thursday after being on the run for a year. Alderet had been accused of raping his ex-girlfriend and kidnapping his 11-month-old daughter, who is now in custody. He is currently being held on $4 million.
- Police find dead body at Cork and Hazard - The young man, late teens, not identified, had suffered severe wounds to the head and neck, which were assumed to be the cause of death from an offender. There was a woman found at the scene with harmful but not deadly face lacerations. Police are seeking a man in his 20’s driving a black Honda Accord with a broken driver’s-side window.
