Current Weather Damage in LA

  • There was an avalanche in Wrightwood, in the San Gabriel Mountains, which trapped one man and possible another. A man who they think was skiing was pulled from the snow, and given cpr, his current status is unknown.
  • In other parts of Southern California 11,000 homes and businesses went without electricity for the day and are still having trouble.
  • A 40-mile stretch over the Tejon Pass was re-opened today after being closed for two days. Police escorted vehicles across. Although if it becomes too icy again they are prepared to shut it down immediately.
  •  A Metrolink train was hit by a mud-slide and on the track and was stopped. It had to be towed out by another train. 2,000 passengers were delayed 2 1/5 hours, but there were no injuries reported.
  • There was a mud slide in Woodland Hills today which washed onto a construction site and into two homes. No injuries were reporting but damage was done to he homes. [Full Story]
