The Lakers started the week right after a tough 95-98 loss to LeBron and the Cavs (For some reason LeBron always seems to up his game when he comes to L.A.). The Lakers beat the New York Knicks easily 120-109 on Tuesdays. Kobe led the Lakers in scoring with 24 points, but he also received strong support from Odom (22 points) and Vujacic (20 points).
The Lakers had another tough loss on Thursday to the Detroit Pistons, 90-89. Tayshaun Prince hit a 3 pointer with 4 seconds left to win the game. Kobe (as always) was the Lakers leading scorer with 39 point. With the loss the closet the Lakers can get to the first place Suns would be 3.5 games back and that’s if the Suns lose.
After losing three straight, the Clippers are coming off a win against the Atlanta Hawks and have a game today against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It seems after a few years of upside they are reverting to their old ways. They are currently the basement dwellers in the Pacific Division and the 4th worst team in the Western Conference.
Can Super Bowl media day be anymore crazy? Every year seems to top the last. From the stupid question of who Eli Manning thought was going to win a soccer match in England to a reporter proposing to Tom Brady. Media day should be about serious super bowl questions enough with the stupidity. I’m begging you NFL, please stop the madness.
Just in case you forgot there is still hockey in L.A. The Kings beat the Islanders on Thursday, but are still in last place. I’m sure they would get more support if anyone knew hockey was still being played.
Only a month before catchers and pitchers start reporting for Spring Training. Baseball is almost back woo-hoo.
