It is official. The world is coming to an end at on February 26. Prepare yourselves. All 7,100 Starbucks stores will close at 5:30 pm and remain closed for three hours so that all baristas can be retrained in the correct methods of coffee making. It seems that the quality of the lattes and other drinks has been on the decline and has become hit or miss from one location to the next.
The topics that will be covered on the 26th will include how to make a perfect shot, how to steam milk. They may even cover how not to burn coffee. I personally have never been a big fan of Starbucks. I always thought it tasted like the beans were burned. Not to mention it is well overpriced, but I think the one thing that scares me the most is the addiction they have created in more people than you can imagine. That is why there is a Starbucks on every other corner so you don’t have to go far without one.
I used to work next door to a Starbucks and the people who came there desperate for their morning fix were sometimes frightening. They would park in the red zone, scream and yell and be all kinds of rude. One fateful day the electricity went out and none of us could work. We ended up sitting outside to watch the panic attacks. It was indeed like the end of the world. Some were nearly in tears and others were dazed and looked like they had just come out of a disaster. A few became angry. I distinctly remember one woman screaming out “Oh my god! Starbucks is closed!” Take my advice, when the 26th comes around take cover. Either that or hide and watch the nervous breakdowns ensue. For many around the nation at 5:30 pm on February 26th the world will come to an end.

Unfortunately they’re only closing for three hours and not permanently! No Starbuck’s- go to Peet’s!

Truth is, Starbucks do good fancy drinks, but their basic espresso isn’t good. Espresso is the foundation of a good drink, and no amount of sygar and syrups can cover up a bad foundation.
