The writer’s strike is over and in one week we will know all the winners. Before they take home all the Oscars you will have a chance to hold one and thank your agent and all of the little people who made you who you are today.

Once again, the Hollywood and Highland Center will host Meet the Oscars – An Exhibition of 50 Golden Statuettes. You will get to have a red carpet experience and actually hold an Oscar. The experience will be open now through this Thursday from noon until 7:00 pm. Before you head down to Hollywood and Highland there are a few things you will need to know:

• First of all Hollywood boulevard is closed between Highland and Orange Street.
• The sidewalk on the north side of Hollywood Boulevard is closed and the bleachers are in place.
• The red carpet will be covering the street and traffic will be backed up in the area.
• If you want the easy way in, take the Metro Red Line and get off at the Hollywood and Highland stop. No fuss, no muss.
• You should also start lifting a few weights. Oscars are heavy. They weigh 81/2 pounds and are 131/2 inches tall so when you take it try not to drop it.
• Since you already know you will be holding that little golden statue have your speech ready because you won’t be the only one holding the little guy.

So this year take a trip down to the Kodak Theater and see the red carpet, the huge golden statues that stand outside on the street and hold one of those coveted golden boys. Then tune in to watch Jon Stewart host the 80^th Academy Awards Ceremony Sunday February 24^th and know what it’s like when you see one of your favorite stars hold the same statue you held.
