Two major tragedies in the past few hours involving multiple children that have been killed.
- Five family members found dead in murder, suicide - Three children and two adults were found dead in a Yorba Linda Home in what appears to be a murder suicide. Neighbors called 911 at 11pm Saturday when they heard shooting, which was soon followed by a 14-year old calling police to say that his father had shot him and his brother. The teen was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition. A woman thought to be the mother was found dead on the stairs in front of the house, inside was the body of a 5-year-old boy, two girls, 8 and 9, and a man with a shotgun dead.
- Three-year-old Killed in Five Car Crash - Yesterday at 3:30pm on the 5 South near El Camino Real in San Clemente, Carla Mondragon-Rodriguez, was killed. The toddler was not wearing a seat-belt when the Ford Expedition Jimmy Melendez, 49, was driving lost control and flipped over when a trailer we was pulling turned onto it’s side. Two other girls suffered minor injuries. Jasmine Pena, 5, and Stephanie Mondragon, 9, were transferred to San Clemente Hospital.

Every time I read one of yet another of these horrific killings of children by their own parents I am reminded of Fellini’s timeless b/w film La Dolce Vita - see it for yourself if you haven’t already. It’s brilliantly deals with paparazzi and celeb obsession, innocence and cynicism, lust and love, religion and much more.

Viva La Dolce Vita! Also check out Fellini Satyricon from 1969. It will freak you out. If you can stand extreme nudity and realistic violencia, then please proceed.
