  • High speed chase kills 1, injures 5 - A women fleeing police at 100mph Friday night crashed in Gardena, killing one person and injuring several others. Glenda Jamerson, 37, was arrested on alleged charges of vehicular manslaughter. The chase began when Jamerson was stopped by LAPD officers for a traffic violation.
  • Second-grader points pellet gun at students - A second-grade boy who brought two pellet guns to school and pointed them at students was suspended indefinitely Friday from Nevada Elementary School in Canoga Park. School Administrators became aware of the situation after the boy, whose name was not released, gave one of the guns to another student, whose mother called the school, said Monica Carazo, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
  • Suspect arrested in stabbing case - Steven Walter Robinson, Jr., was arrested in the stabbing of two men in a Fullerton movie theater which occurred last month during a showing of the horror film “The Signal” at an AMC theater.

  • Gang violence grows as victim gunned down - Jorge Fernando Casillas, 20, was gunned down last night in the 3500 block of Siskiyou Street in Los Angeles, after a confrontation with gang members. He was taken to County-USC Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:31 a.m.
  • Temecula man arrested on 1999 molestation charges - Fidelmar Hernandez Medellin was arrested on suspicion of rape, aggravated sexual assault on a child and forcible lewd acts on a child under 10 years old with incidents stemming from 1999. The investigation took place after a teenage girl approached authorities and claimed that the suspect had violated her when she was 5-years-old.
  • No connection between L.A man’s letters and Times Square bombing - Lengthy anti-war letters sent to Congress saying “We Did It” which arrived with photos of a man standing in front of the recruiting office in Times Square that was bombed on Thursday have no link, said law enforcement officials. The letters did not contain any threat and were sent to as many as 100 members of Congress.
