- Real estate agent raped while showing vacant home - The woman, who was also repeatedly stabbed, managed to fight her attacker off and venture outside. She was transferred to a hospital and is expected to survive. The suspected attacker, Shawn David Yates, 33, was arrested Friday night on suspicion of torture, kidnapped, strong-arm robbery, assault with intent to rape and false imprisonment.
- Teenager killed in Northridge - Michael Fabian, 16, was shot to death at a party in Northridge, authorities said. An argument began inside the home and continued in the alley behind the house, where the shooting took place. He was shot once in the head and died at the scene. The shooter appeared to be a gang member.
- Soap box racer dies after collision with light pole - A man died early Sunday morning after a homemade soapbox he was riding crashed into a light pole in Tarzana.
- Off-duty police office involved in shooting - One person was killed and several wounded following a shooting that occurred after a fight broke out at a Mexican restaurant on Saturday night, which involved an off-duty police office from Costa Mesa.
- Crash in Long Beach kills 1, injures 2 - A man lost control of his car and drove into an embankment on the 710 freeway, where CHP officers say the car flipped over several times. The driver was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where he died of massive head injuries. The two passengers were injured in the crash.
