New Music: Lymbyc Systym Interview

April 1st, 2008 Written by: Mali· No Comments

LS band photo08-04-01Brothers, Jared and Michael Bell formed Lymbyc Systym late in 2001. The duo draws inspiration from the groups such as Tortoise, My Bloody Valentine and Four Tet. They have a unique sound to them which blends, vintage keyboards, melodies, analog effects, drumming, and intricate laptop programming. The effect of this is to form melodic and cohesive tracks that blur the borders between post-rock, indie-rock, and folktronica.

They have set sail on a tour around the US and Canada to support their new CD, Love Your Abuser Remixed.  If you like to catch them in town, they will be a  The Troubadour - Map on April 23rd.

To learn a little more about the band then keep reading for our interview with Michael Bell about, his favorite music, how he relates to Doug Funny, how the hell they came up with Lymbyc System for a band name.
