  • Carjacking Suspect runs over accomplice - A man ran over his accomplice while fleeing in a vehicle that he carjacked from a Sun Valley restaurant parking lot early Friday morning. The incident took place in a parking lot behind a Mexican restaurant on Sunland Boulevard at San Fernando Road around 2:10 a.m. The carjacker first struggled with the owner of a white 2005 Nissan Titan, then “an accomplice of the suspect somehow got in front of the vehicle as the suspect was fleeing” and was hit by the Toyota. As the carjacker was fled, a security guard that witnessed what had happened tried to shoot out the vehicles’ tires, but failed. The accomplice was transported by an ambulance to a hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
  • Teen crashes into building trapping father - A teen boy allegedly crashed a car into his home early Friday morning, trapping his father underneath the vehicle. The accident was reported about 4:45 a.m. in the 700 block of North Occidental Avenue. The teen apparently mistook the gas for the brakes. The teens in the car were not believed to have been drinking. The man was freed from the wreckage and taken to a hospital in stable condition.
  • Man killed in hit and run - A man was killed Friday morning in what appeared to be a hit-and-run accident on a transition road off the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the North University Park area. He had apparently been hit by a vehicle, which did not stop. CHP officers and Los Angeles city firefighters received a call at 5:20 a.m. and discovered a man on a collector road east of Hoover Street. The man died at the scene. His name was not immediately released.
