
- Two children injured when car hits stroller - Two children were injured on Monday in an accident involving a vehicle that hit a stroller being pushed by their mother across a Sun Valley street at 8a.m. The woman was pushing a stroller occupied by her 4-month-old child — while walking her 6-year-old daughter to school — when the vehicle hit the stroller. The woman was unhurt.The children were airlifted to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. A condition report was not immediately available. The motorist was questioned at the scene, and police were investigating the accident.
- Garden Grove man attacked after confronting tagger - An unidentified 43-year-old man was in critical but stable condition at a local hospital after he was shot when he confronted taggers near his home in Garden Grove. He was expected to survive despite suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Police are looking for two male suspects who fled on foot from the scene, in the 13000 block of Robyn Court, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact investigators at (714) 741-5704.
- Two killed and 3 wounded in South LA shootings - A man in a green Dodge Caravan pulled alongside a parked car at 196 E. 148th St. and opened fire at 10:50 p.m. on Sunday. Brenda Aguilera, 21, was shot in the head and died at the scene, and Jonathan Vega-Plascencia, 20, was also shot in the head, was later pronounced dead at a hospital. There were believed to have been the only occupants of the vehicle, but police would not say how the two knew each other or the suspect who shot them. After shooting into the car, the gunman fired on three women who were sitting on a nearby porch. All three women were shot in the legs and were in stable condition this morning.
- Possible murder-suicide in Pasadena - Authorities Monday were investigating the deaths of a man and a woman in Pasadena as a possible murder-suicide. A 46-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were found dead about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Huntington Drive. Their names, causes of death and relationship to one another were not immediately disclosed.
- 4 injured bus carrying inmates - Three jail inmates and a driver were injured this morning when an OC Sheriff’s Department bus that was taking 42 inmates from the inmate reception center in Santa Ana to the James A. Musick jail in Irvine, crashed into a guardrail while exiting the 133 Freeway in Irvine at 9:20 a.m. The driver, whose knee was jammed into the dashboard of the bus, was moderately injured, one inmate suffered moderate injuries to the face, two other inmates complained of minor injuries, and all four were transported to a local hospital.
- Cops ID man shot in Pacoima - Authorities on Monday identified a man fatally shot by a store clerk during an apparent attempted armed robbery of a mini-market in Pacoima. Marvin Sanchez, 30, of Mission Hills, died near the scene of the shooting, which occurred about 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 10500 block of San Fernando Road. According to the preliminary investigation, Sanchez allegedly entered the store and tried to rob the clerk at gunpoint, “The clerk armed himself with a handgun and fatally shot Sanchez,” police said in a statement. Detectives interviewed the clerk, whose name was withheld.
