Well there are no real surprises here. Iron Man takes the number one spot, making over $100 million in it’s first weekend. Not quite as much as Spiderman opening weekend ($114 million) but not too shabby either. 21 wins the prize for the movie that has managed to stay in the top ten the longest, it has been hanging on for nearly 6 weeks and doesn’t look like it’s about to drop. Made of Honor surprisingly jumps into the second spot, but who knows for how long. Then the comedies line up, starting with Baby Mama, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and lastly Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (do most American’s even know what Guantanamo Bay is? It’s a toss up). All great movies worth seeing. The Forbidden Kingdom seems to be sticking right around the middle of the pack, and Nim’s Island, Prom Night, and 88 Minutes have somehow managed to hang on, although hopefully we’ll be replacing them soon with a summer full of (potentially) awesome movies on the way.
