Can’t do much about the gas prices, but you can be smart about them by visiting one of the following websites and finding out gas prices before you get to the pump! Mashable recently made a list of all the websites where you can check for cheap gas, below are all the sites that apply to LA. Happy pumping!

• Fuelmeup.com has a list of gas prices in your zip code and they update the site three times a day for accuracy. They also list the top 10 most expensive states in the US. Congrats California… We’re number one! Damnit.

• AltFuelPrices.com - Ever wondered if it’s worth getting an electric car or one that runs off of alternative fuel, but was worried about having to find places to charge it or fill up? Well here is a site that will help you find E85, electric charging stations, hydrogen fuel and more, as well as listing their current prices.
• GasBuddy.com - GasBuddy is with you all across the US and in Canada. You can enter through the main site, or use one of the state specific domain names such as CaliforniaGasPrices.com and it will take you straight to the cheapest places to buy gas!
• GasPriceWatch.com - Oh Google, what will you think up next? This site gives you a google map of all the  stations for a given area and color codes the prices by age. Show offs. And lastly, they let you let up a page with your favorite stations so that you can keep track of stations you often visit.
• Motor Trend - Motor Trend magazine allows you to look up the gas prices by zip code or you can start big and work your way down by clicking the state you want, then the county and finally town of your choice.
• MSN Autos - MSN offers integration with their mapping service. This allows your to zoom in and out and make you feel like you have technologically advanced. The maps allows you to zoom in and out until you find your favorite location and price and number the stations for you to reference where they are. How cool!
