So… it’s 7am Friday morning, I’m sitting at work, still tired from watching Be Your Own Pet destroy last night at the House of Blues- Anaheim.
But enough about me, how about about you? What are you going to do with your economic stimulus check? Savings? Gas? Credit Card Debt? Bail? Pfft to all of those I say. You need to go see a concert. “But Brian,” you say, handing me a cup of coffee in bed, “how do I learn about all the wonderful concert on sales I can use my stimulus check on?” Well, just call me your messiah…
Concerts on sale for this weekend:
- Last time she played LA, she refused to turn on the AC at the Staples Center to help reduce global warming (no, I’m not making that up). Now, Madonna will take her live show outdoors with a just announced show at Dodger Stadium on November 6th. You can buy tickets on June 1st. Yes I know, it’s not this weekend, but I tell you this so you can start saving as tickets will run you between $95-$350. That could buy a lot of air conditioners.
- If you read my Music News post on Wednesday (I mean, who doesn’t?) then you already know that My Bloody Valentine is finally setting foot in Los Angeles for the first time since sometime around the Cretaceous Period. The band will play two shows at the Santa Monica Civic Center on October 1st and 2nd. Tickets are on sale Friday at 10am and cost $48.
- Oscar Winners (and all around sweet people) The Swell Season are coming to the Greek Theater on October 4th. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10am and it costs $45-$50.
- Here comes the metal. Quick, hide the pets and kids! The Metal Masters Tour will hit the Hyundai Pavilion in Glen Halen on August 30th with Iron Maiden, Heaven and Hell, Motorhead and Testament in tow. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10am. Get your tickets before Satan buys them all up.
- The annual Rock the Bells festival will also play the Hyundai Pavilion on August 9th. The festival will feature performances by A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, De La Soul and many, many more. Tickets also go on sale Saturday at 10am. Satan might decide to pass on this one.
- The Black Keys will play the House of Blues Anaheim on August 25th and tickets go on sale Saturday at 10am.
- And, of course, The Alkaline Trio will be hitting the House of Blues- Hollywood on July 26th. Tickets are $19 and go on sale Friday at 1pm. But don’t you dare get your tickets before me or I’ll throw my coffee at you!
