If you’re like me, you know that the only person who knows good art, is yourself. Critics may love one thing or another, but what really matters is what you, the viewer, thinks. Well next Saturday, on May 31st in Long Beach ISM, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping promote and support the local arts, will be exercising this idea with their “ISM: to Celebrate the Best in Show” competition/gallery.
This friendly art competition will give local artists an opportunity to shine outside of their respected schools and introduce them to the art world. At the gallery you the viewer will have the ability to decide what is the best piece of art in the room. Guests will be given the chance to view the artwork and then vote on the artist they feel is the “Best in Show.” This award gives each artist his or her introduction to the professional world of art and a chance to have their artwork seen by critics, artists, and you. The winner will be revealed at www.ISMcommunity.org.
So come and be a part of the art world and voice your opinion about what great art is! Each artist will have his or her work displayed beginning at 7 p.m. at Koo’s Art Center.
The event is located at Koo’s Art Center located at 540 East Broadway in Long Beach and takes place on May 31st.
