I know how you feel. Right now, with both excitement and horror you’re watching your favorite shows air their season finales. You want to see how they end and yet you don’t want them to end because you dread another summer of nothing good on.
It hardly seems fair, does it? With the giant strike-induced break this season, most shows had only been back for a few episodes before ending. Mucho suckage. But, don’t despair. You can fill up your DVR schedule with some new, promising programming. Hey, if they’re bad, you can just delete them and crank up your Netflix subscription for the summer. (I find that 5 at a time is too much pressure. 3 is not enough. 4 is just right. Yes, I’m the Goldilocks of freakin’ movie rentals.)
Here are my picks:
Thank you, NBC! This is a new horror anthology series that features a different director and writer every week. And, we’re not talking shorts by creepy persistant interns here. Featured directors include Darren Bousman (Saw 2, 3, and 4), Ronny Yu (Bride of Chucky) and John Landis (An American Werewolf in London). Each week should be like a mini-horror flick. Bring it on!

Unlike that Lohan thing, this could actually be interesting. I mean, has anyone ever even heard this girl talk? Did she speak in Wild Things? Oh, I guess she did. But, still. I want to see what the big deal is. I want to hear Heather Locklear and Charlie Sheen dirt. I want to see if Denise Richards has a pulse.

- E!
This could be really good. At least it won’t be boring. Let’s review the plot, shall we? Swingers. In the 70’s. Yay! Directed by the dude who directed both “Rome” and “Big Love”, it’s probably a pretty safe bet for the good ole’ DVR.
