Burger News - Five Guys Opens In Carson

May 29th, 2008 Written by: Louis· 2 Comments

Five Guys 20080529Look out, In-N-Out. Your title of best burger chain in California just might be threatened.

Those of you from the East Coast might be familiar with Five Guys, the Zagat-rated, New York Magazine-touted burger chain. While similar to In-N-Out in format, apparently the place is more akin to The Counter in terms of options.

Phil Ratner, former CEO of Marie Callendar’s, has the option to open 30 of them in the SoCal region according to Fast Food Maven, and settled on the South Bay for his first one.

As someone all about culinary diversity, I welcome this new player to the Southern Californian burger battlefield.

Did I mention their fries are Idaho potatoes fried fresh in pure peanut oil, which will give them a huge advantage over In-N-Out, whose fries are, according to my sources, cooked in vomit, giving them their distinctive, unbearably horrendous taste.

Mmmmmm! I love a good burger so fresh meat (forgive the pun) will be a welcome addition to the competition. Your’e right about the fries at In-N-Out, Louis! But the burgers ain’t bad there.
