The musical explores the life of the rock legend through letters she wrote to her family. Catch this one while you can, since the show only runs for one weekend.

  • Darfur Now College Tour Concert | Thursday, May 29, 2008 | 6 p.m. | Free | UCLA - Map | Ok Go, Rock & Roll, Nico Vega, Zion 1, Rhymefest, Arepa and more perform at this event sponsored by STAND and Patricipant Media which seeks to showcase the critically acclaimed documentary, Darfur Now. The concern is meant to raise awareness and funds and send the message that now is the time to end genocide in Darfur. Are you ready to take a stand against genocide?

  • Seeing the Picture 70 mm: “Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines” | Thursday, May 29, 2008 | 7:30 p.m. | $10 general, $9 students & seniors | Aero Theatre - Map | An ensemble of aviators, inventors and villains compete to win a 1910 London to Paris air race in the comedy “Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines.” Directed by Ken Annakin in 1965, the film is a combination of epic adventure and slapstick comedy.

  • Young Birds Fly - Time Marches On Screening | Thursday, May 29, 2008 | 8 p.m. | Free | Bigfoot Lodge - Map | Psychotonic presents this screening for “Young Birds Fly,” a movie about the contemporary Los Angeles Mod/Skin/Northern Soul movement through the eyes of a teenager named Jill. The movie will start at 8 and 10 p.m and there will be a dance party with filmmaker and guest DJ, Leonardo Flores.
