OK, so I just wandered into my place of employment and discovered a quite daunting pile of work. So as I nurse my ringing ears and hurting feet from last nights REM/ Modest Mouse/ The National show, let me give you some concert on-sale information before I plunge headlong into this oh so lovely pile of work.
- Orange County, prepare for a collective high pitched, deafening scream as the Jonas Brothers hit the Honda Center on July 13th and 14th. Tickets are $25-$75, go on sale sale Saturday at 10am, then will sell out at 10:01 am, immediately followed by a slew of lawsuits from parents who didn’t get their tickets.
- I believe I mentioned a few weeks ago that Madonna is coming to Dodger Stadium on November 6th. Just a reminder that tickets go on sale 10am on Sunday and are $55-$350. That’s could buy a lot of Dodger dogs.
- The annual Download Festivalwill be making it’s first Los Angeles appearance on July 20th at the Universal Amphitheater. Headlining the rather strong line-up will be Brand New along with Atmosphere, Mute Math, Tapes N’ Tapes and many more. Tickets are $37.50 and go on sale Saturday at 1pm.
- Ranchero-dance rockers (aka one of the best live acts out there) Kinky will play the Vault 350 in Long Beach on September 27th. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased now.
- South American dance-rockers CSS will headline the The Mayan Theater on September 22nd and 23rd. Tickets are on sale now for 26 gold-doubloons… ahhh, dollars.
- The Locust grind-grind-grind at The Glasshouse on August 14th ($13). Also, in the same vein, a live version of the kids hit CD’s Kidz-Bop will play the UCLA’s Royce Hall on Aug. 8th. Tickets are $28-$48 and are on-sale 10am on today.
- Punk rock cover god’s Me First and The Gimme Gimmes play the Glasshouse on August 7th ($15) and House of Blues- Hollywood on August 3rd ($12.50), tickets on sale Saturday.
- Jimmy Eat World will play the Avalon on July 19th. Tickets are $30 and go on sale today at 4pm.
- Last, but not least, indie-buzz band Vampire Weekend play the Wiltern on September 17th. Tickets are on sale now.
Phew. Alright, let’s all get back to work then.
