- LA Chamber Orchestra Presents 19th Annual Silent Film Gala | May 31 | 8:00pm | UCLA - Royce Hall | $35 general seating $75 priority seating $300 gala | The LA Chamber Orchestra presents Harold Lloyd’s whimsical and stylish “Speedy” (1928), with an extended cameo by Babe Ruth. This movie has it all: New York’s last horse-drawn car, baseball, good guys and bad guys (guess who wins). The orchestra will accompany the silent film with the score composed and conducted by Carl Davis.

- KOCE-TV & the 42nd Annual CA Student Media Festival | May 31, 2008 | 9am -12pm | Huntington Beach Library & Cultural Center - Map | Admission is FREE | Come one, come all, and witness the award-winning films, artwork, and other forms of media from more than 6,000 K-12 students who hail from more than 300 schools across the state. Their work will be showcased on a big screen and then the winners will have the opportunity to give acceptance speeches as they are recognized with plaques and certificates.

They provide bus tours that explore various components of LA’s strange history, one of which focuses on the wild life of literary giant Charles Bukowski.
