Some of you may know Largo at the Coronet closed down for the month of May to do some remodeling. Some of you might remember is as a small, dinner-theater-style home for a steady lineup of up-and-comers. it was known to house Steve Martin’s early stand-up and “Puppetry of the Penis.” Well as of next month, June 2nd, they’re back! Largo has managed to expand without losing their cozy charm, proving that bigger is better, when done properly.Largo now has two rooms, a brand new 280-seat theater as well as their intimate 60-seat theater. The will be re-opening June 2nd with Aimee Mann. And although their theater is all new and spruced up their prices have remained fairly the same. There are no food or drink minimums. You can simply come and enjoy the entertainment, enjoy a drink or two, or even a full dinner if you’d like.
June looks to be a good month and they already have a line-up with with old timers Colin Hay (of Men at Work fame), Aimee Mann, Grant Lee Phillips, and Brion, as well as newcomers such as Greg Proops, Patton Oswalt, and Sarah Silverman.
There’s no booze yet in the main theater, although they have (literally) brought back the old Largo bar and serve wine and beer which you can drink in certain areas. There is also a new pastry and coffee area set up that is supposed to be really nice.
They welcome customers of all ages, so come and bring the family (if they don’t mind crude humor) and enjoy the new theater.
