
- Man killed in road rage shooting - Police think that road rage led to the shooting and death of an unnamed man. The shooting on South Broadway near 66th St was reported around 1:50 a.m..”Someone pissed someone off in another car,” he said. “One gunshot rang out from one car to another, striking the victim and killing him.” The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
- 21-year-old killed in drive-by - Christopher Gonzalez was gunned down Friday in El Monte, while standing on the 12000 block of Magnolia Street near Cogswell Road about 8:50 p.m. A newer black Nissan Altima drove up and one of two males inside opened fire with a pistol. Gonzalez, shot in the upper body, died at the scene. Anyone with more information should call (323) 890-5500.
- Man beaten to death and found in trash bags - The body of a 30-something Latino man who had been beaten to death was found in a trash bag in Sun Valley Saturday, according to police. It was unclear who reported the find, but officers responded to a “death investigation” call in the 9100 block of Bartee Avenue shortly after midnight. The body was turned over to the coroner’s office for an autopsy.
- Hollywood fire kills one - The LAFD reports that a fire in a North Hollywood home has left a man dead. A woman was also injured in that blaze. The fire at 14024 Chandler Blvd. was reported at 3:19 a.m. and declared out less than a half hour later. The unidentified man was unable to walk, according to reports from the scene, but fire officials could not immediately confirm that. According to Newsreel, a woman was being treated in an ambulance at the scene.
