linkinpark08-6-13Alright. There is a wide variety of concerts going on sale this weekend. From rock, to pop, to hip-hop almost everything is up for purchase this weekend. So grab a beer, get comfy in your chair, give your wife a terrorist fist pump, and read up on all the wonderful concerts that go on sale in the next 72 hours.

I believe I may have mentioned it a few weeks ago (I better ask my official biographer), but Linkin Park’s Projekt Revolution tour is coming to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on August 10th. In addition to L.P., the mainstage features Chris Cornell, The Bravery, Busta Rhymes and Ashes Divide. The second stage is headlined by Atreyu and also features 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights, Armor For Sleep and Street Drum Corps. The tickets go on sale Saturday at 10am and will cost you between $25 and $80.

  • I read an article yesterday saying that Janet Jackson is mad at her record label for not promoting her new “Discipline” album correctly. Apparently the album hasn’t gone gold yet, but that isn’t stopping her from hopping into her private jet (I can only assume) and take her album on the road. Her “Rock Witchu Tour” (apparently her A&R people don’t have spellcheck) will play Staples Center on September 17th. Tickets are $50-$250 and go on sale Monday at 10am.
  • Apparently Fergie has a soft spot in her heart for the Orange County Fair (and with the Fried Chicken- Krispy Kreme sandwiches who could blame her). The Black Eye Pea will play the Pacific Amphitheater July 19th and goes on sale Saturday at 10am.
  • Both Jesus and Mary Chain and Gang of Four have been added to the interesting, yet confusing, Download Festival at Gibson Amphitheater on July 20th. The two veteran acts join such bands as Brand New, MuteMath, Atmosphere and Mates of States on the inaugural LA dates and are on sale now.
  • The reunited Face to Face have added a couple of local shows to their itinerary. The band will play the House of Blues- Anaheim on November 8th and 14 (tickets onsale 10am today) and House of Blues- Hollywood Novemeber 7th and 13 (tickets on sale 10am next Thursday).
  • Former System of A Down frontman Serj Tankian will play his solo material (which, strangely, sounds like System of a Down) at the Wiltern on August 2nd. Tickets are $40 and go on sale Saturday at Noon.
  • Assuming that the building is up to code for two hours of wall crumbling reverb, Mogwai will strip away your tooth enamel at the Wiltern on September 9th. Tickets are around $25 (not including ear and dental work) and go on sale today at noon.
  • Also playing the Wiltern, Bow Wow on August 17th. Tickets are $45 and go on sale Saturday at noon.
  • Jimmy Eat World has added a second date at Avalon on July 20th. Tickets are $30 and are on sale Saturday at noon.
  • Finally, the fabulous Oklahoma band Umbrellas will play Chain Reaction in Anaheim on August 10th. Tickets are $10 and should be bought up before it sells out.
