It’s Me, Chelsea, a title that borrows from Judy Blume’s tale of growing up girl in new surroundings, which makes sense - per author Jennifer Weiner: “Chelsea Handler writes like Judy Blume, if Judy Blume were into vodka, Ecstasy, and sleeping with midgets and nineteen-year-olds.” Expect personal essays in the form of her freshman book entitled My Horizontal Life, which - should Ms. Handler be your brand of clever - will having you lining up for her sophomore edition.
- Book Release Party | Sunday, June 22, 2008 | Free | The Village at Ed Gould Plaza - Map | Poet and author Steven Reigns releases My Life is Poetry, bound and packaged reminiscences penned by gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender seniors, made available without obstruction. Elements of style and structure influence much, as presented in this exhibit at the Hammer Museum. With notable serial imagery, fifteenth-century artists and countless others (including their contemporary descendants) pay homage to the simple significance of blocks and ink and the innumerable points of view made public since.
