Before we start on a weekend full of some pretty quality concert on-sales, I would like to state that, in an attempt to make the LA City Zine Concert On-Sale listings more Green and eco-friendly, your writer, Brian, will no longer be powered by coal and gasoline. Instead, Brian will run on a eco-friendly combination of caffeine and adrenaline. Remember, you can take steps at home to reduce your carbon footprint. Now that that is out of the way, check this out:

  • For those of you who have been living under a rock lately (no offense, it’s probably much cooler down there) and don’t already know, Nine Inch Nails will end their spat of summer tour dates with a show September 6th at the Forum with Deerhunter opening. Tickets are $36-$52 and go on sale Saturday at 10am (don’t be surprised if another show, or two, are added)

  • Gogol (muther-fing) Bordello will take their Gyspy punk stage show to all tiered levels of the Grove of Anaheim on October 2nd. This should absolutely, positively not be missed as a Gogol show is probably the most fun you’ll ever have at a concert venue (you know, unless like Hinder got eaten by a cougar on stage or something). Tickets go on sale Saturday at noon and are $25.
  • Sigur Ros (who I read is actually pronounced “Victory Ros”) will play the Greek Theater on October 2nd (uh oh, same day as Gogol). Some people love the Ros, others get put to sleep by them, but I think they put on a pretty stirring live show. Tickets are $23-$52 and go on sale Saturday at 10am.
  • With no good transition from the previous entry, former American Idol Carrie Underwood brings her “Carnival Ride Tour” to the Nokia Theater on November 5th. Tickets are $35-$55 and go on sale Monday at 10am. Speaking of transitions
  • I would probably rather sit through the entire “Carnival Ride Tour” than watch 3 Doors Down headline a bill with Aaron Lewis of Staind, Hinder (who probably won’t get eaten by a cougar) and Sick Puppies August 31st at Verizon Wireless Ampitheater. Tickets are $19-$69 and go on sale Saturday at 10am.
  • Lit is doing a benefit for their cancer-stricken drummer Allen Shellenberger (who is a very nice guy) July 26th at the House of Blues- Anaheim. The show will feature No Doubt’s Adrian Young on drums and will feature other special guests. Tickets on sale Saturday at 10am and will cost you around $33.
