Where to go, what to do? It’s so much easier when others do the research for you. Here’s what the web suggests for this festive three day weekend.
Serious Eats suggests spending the 4th at Blue Velvet and indulging in some suckling pig, then Breadbar’s Build-Your-Own-Burger on Saturday and Wilshire’s Sunday BBQ night. See the whole article here.
Citysearch LA thinks that there is little else you should do this weekend other than enjoy the weather with a nice meal at one of their recommended outdoor restaurants. If you can afford Geoffrey’s, have a good time - you’re probably more likely to see me at the Galley.
Metromix has a full party guide with an itinerary for your entire weekend. Bomb Pop drinks at Baja Sharkeez? What is the 4th of July for, if not blue curacao?
Finally, The Rundown announces that after 13 years, the Malibu Pier is re-opening this weekend. Apparently, the Malibu Pier club is serving up Kobe burgers and Liberty martinis made with a potent mix of Chambord, blue curacao and Absolut Vanilla.
I feel the hangover already. Happy 4th!

Metromix? Citysearch? Malibu Pier? This is the stuff of corporate mainstream snoozefest…. yawn… how about something with flavor and rebellion? Isn’t that what the darn farce of July is about? Me? I’m up for a little E Pluribus Boom! (You’ll have to do a little google to figure it out.)
