LA Wounded: Man Dead in Car with Ticket, Teen Rapes Child…

  • Man found dead in car after it was ticketed -A passerby noticed the man in the driver’s seat of the Lincoln Town Car near Peck and Rooks roads about 7:50 p.m. and notified employees at a nearby truck shop. Police found an elderly man, probably in his 70’s, dead inside. The parked car has a ticket on it from about 11a.m that day. The car was parked in front of a store and workers at the shop called for help after knocking on the window of the locked car and getting no response. Authorities were not immediately able to say whether the man was in his car at the time the ticket was issued or if he had returned to it later.
  • Teen rapes child with toy light saber - A Santa Ana 16-year-old boy has been arrested and taken to Juvenile Hall for allegedly raping a 9-year-old boy with a toy light saber. The Department of Social Services notified the Police Department on Monday that the youngster was sexually assaulted at the teen’s home on July 16. Investigators say the teen and younger boy are believed to be acquaintances. There is no information about the alleged victim’s condition. There is no information about the alleged victim’s condition.
  • 18-year-old arrested for boy shot in head -Alcus Mallory, a 15-year-old boy who was shot in the head nearly a week ago has died, and his alleged killer was being held on $1 million bail, police said.  Elijah Larkin, 18, was arrested the day after the shooting and booked on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter. “The suspect … pulled out a handgun and began to play with it,” police said in a statement. “He fired one shot and struck Mallory in the head.”

  • Man struck and killed by Metrolink - A man was struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Van Nuys on Wednesday, according to reports from authorities.The pedestrian died at the scene, which occurred about 8 a.m. near Raymer Street and Bellaire Avenue. Metrolink spokeswoman Denise Tyrell said train No. 106, which originated in Ventura at 6:44 a.m. and was due to arrive at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles at 8:38 a.m., struck the person at 8 a.m. and stopped between the Van Nuys and Burbank stations. She described him as a trespasser.
  • Search continues for bear who shot woman - State game wardens continued their search today for a bear that mauled, Allena Hansen, 57, a Kern County woman in a remote area east of Bakersfield. They are using traps and dogs to capture the animal and when it is found it will be euthanized. The woman has now undergone 10 hours of surgery at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and is expected to recover, her neighbor told television reporters. The hospital would not release her condition or other information, citing privacy concerns. But her neighbor, August Dunning, said she was “lucid, active and probably pretty sore.”
  • Three-year-old falls off balcony - A 3-year-old boy was in critical condition Wednesday after falling off a second-floor balcony. The boy, who suffered head injuries in the roughly 15-foot fall, was in the care of his grandmother and an uncle who live in an apartment. “At this point, it does appear to be an unfortunate accident,” said police. The grandmother was reportedly watching television and the uncle was taking a shower. Gonzalez said the boy’s mother is incarcerated.
