Kathy Griffing - My Life on the D-List

Every night until summer ends you need look no further for your daily guide through the summer TV jungle.

This is a rough time for nightly entertainment with the tube awash in repeats and lame reality shows, but there’s still good stuff available to get you through the work week.

Let the picks begin. . .

Reality Rundown

Kathy Griffin takes us on another trip through her “Life on the D-List” with two straight episodes on Bravo tonight at 9:00. First Kathy performs a stand-up set in exchange for two extra tickets to Bora Bora. Then in an all-new episode at 10:00 Kathy attempts to bring some Grammy attention to her new comedy CD.

HGTV has a block of new programming for every interior design nerd out there. Catch four all new episodes of four different series starting at 8:30 with Myles of Style. Then it’s Rate My Space followed by Extreme Living and a House Hunters set in Colorado. It’s the best remedy for the bad housing market blues.

News & Docs

Shark Week plunges further into the deep with the two-hour special “Mysteries of the Shark Coast” tonight at 9:00 on the Discovery Channel. This all new doc features scientists off the coast of Australia tagging the great fish in order to determine the cause of their decline in those waters.

On MSNBC tonight at 8:00, you have a chance to revisit a classic documentary series that certainly hooked you when it was all new. It’s back-to-back installments of “Predators Raw: The Unseen Footage” on the news network tonight. See even more of Chris Hanson’s ambushing internet predators and learn more about the stories behind the encounters.

Scripted Bliss

The hottest scripted show of the summer is the Canadian import “Flashpoint” on CBS. Tonight at 10:00 catch an new episode of the hostage negotiator series as the team tries to rescue a cop being held by a deranged family member.

One of the more surprisingly good sitcoms on TV continues its third season tonight at 9:30 on TBS. “My Boys” started out so badly that it was almost unwatchable during its maiden season. It’s recently hit its stride and has become one of the best shows to watch during the summer. Tonight, the gang spends a weekend at a dude ranch. Better watch out for those man-eating jack rabbits, and those killer cacti.

Free Movie of the Night

On Lifetime at 9:00 catch Desperate Housewife Felicity Huffman in her Oscar-nominated performance as a pre-op transsexual in “Transamerica” tonight at 9:00. She plays a father trying to reconnect with his son on a cross-country drive from New York to Los Angeles. According to “Knocked Up” Jason Segel couldn’t get her out of his head after this flick. Find out why.

Remember to check in every day for your guide to the best TV of the evening.
