1. Maggie Barry, whose “rock star designs”  (bargainsla.com) were originally created for “Hollywood celebs and TV shows”, makes special occasion and cocktail dresses suitable for the everyday person too. Feminine and comfortable, the soft rayon lycra jersey dresses “drape and flow” over curves.  I looked at her Fall 2008 collection, and I’m pretty sure some of those items look anything but flow-y and easy, but I will say they are all out-of-this-world and unique.
Maggie is opening her show room for a public sale, where all will be 40 to  60 % off. And you can know that you’re supporting local business, because she’s been designing in LA for 18 years.

2. Umm, so… if you’re in need of, well, something you actually NEED, then, for once I have a sale for you. Not for me - non-clothing purchases, don’t know what those are. But, for those who want to save on functioning items, this might be the sale. At California Closeouts, you will find portable air conditioners, deep fryers (…), humidifiers, (??!) … okay, I’m having way too much fun with this list. But seriously, it will all be there. And some of the stuff is actually useful, like sunblock (for $2.99), sleeping bags (always good to have), and, of course… baby clothes? Well, there you have it, California Closeouts. You’re bound to find something, if not just useful, totally random and useful, as well, to buy.

3. The Sielians Vintage warehouse sale began Monday, and is still going. It’s not a whopping slasher discount (30 %), but it’s not so often you get A) Vintage and B) Sale.
