Rat Someone Out for 50 Bucks: The Winner!

August 17th, 2008 Written by: Mali· 11 Comments

We have our winner for our $50 rat out your boss competition!

Ever had a boss that had a saying that drove you insane? To compete, people had a chance to write their favorite (or least favorite) phrases that their boss says. You voted and not someone walks away with $50 to hopefully do whatever they choose! (I find gin normally helps me ignore people).

And the winner is…

Contestant #5, Trang Huynh with…

After taking some of my grapes/candies/almonds etc. w/out asking, he’ll say “oh i just want a little bit.” Then 2 seconds later he’ll dive for another handful, and before you know it, he’s finished my snack.

Contestant #1:

“I get more work done when you’re not here”.

great. thanks.

Contestant #2:

lets not try to boil the ocean

Contestant #3:

Any time my old boss at a country club saw one of us standing still:
“If there’s time to lean there’s time to clean”

Contestant #4:

Even though I (his assistant) was only 5 yards from his desk rolling calls his way, my ex boss used to answer his calls, ALL calls, meaning calls from our parent company, subordinates, his mother

“Hehehehe (as if in the middle of some fun imaginary conversation) Hi! Talk to me ”

All. Day. Long.

What phrase is the most annoying?

After he would explain something - every single time - he would ask “Clear as mud?”

    So. Annoying.

“Is it TBD or can you give me an ETA on that? Will it be done by EOW or COB?”

Basically any way to insert an unnecessary acronym, including several he made up and expected us to remember.

“If we can’t get this done, we shouldn’t be in this business.”

ALWAYS in reference to some impossible decision he’s made that proves HE shouldn’t be in this business.
