Music: Chemical Brothers Ask Fans for Help with Music Video

The Chemical Brothers are giving their fans, filmmakers, and artists, a chance to participate in their new music video “Midnight Madness” via Google Earth. Fans, artists, filmmakers, and anyone else who wants to participate are being asked to create a 2-20 second video using the “Midnight Madness” theme. The video can be a picture, a movie, a conceptual piece, anything that you can film and send in within the time limit that has to do with “celebrating the insanity that goes on at the stroke of midnight… [and] the odd things that people get up to at the midnight hour.”

Selections of their favorite work will be featured in a new concept video to demonstrate the Brotherhood aspect of their new album. The completed video is scheduled to be completed and posted on September 1st and the due date for your video is August 25th, although they are recommending that you get it in as soon as possible.

Once you’ve made your video, then upload it to Google Earth via The Chemical BrothersÃŠÅ’ website, and tag it to its exact global location. To do this you will need to have your own YouTube or Flickr account, and the site will walk you through the process of submitting your content.

Videos of any resolution will be accepted as part of the overall Google Earth project, but if you want your film to be considered for the main film the resolution needs to be 640×480 pixels minimum Ã¢Â€Â“ and higher, if at all possible. You will also need to supply some contact details, and agree to the terms and conditions of the music video.

Deadline for submissions via Chemical BrothersÃŠÅ’ website for the film project is Monday 25th August 2008 at 13.00 GMT, but the sooner the better.
