September 12th, 2008 Written by: Brian· No Comments

Wow, what a week: Angels clinched, Dodgers are hot, hockey season is around the corner, Fringe was better then expected and it was proven that no matter what contradictory things Sarah Palin has done or said in her past, the focus always must be on unrelated pig and lipstick comments.

Here are a few concert on sales to close out your work week and bring you into your drunken weekend.

- As mentioned in this week’s Music News article, the Decemberists have announced a headlining tour, a headlining tour which in fact hits the Wiltern on November 24th. Tickets for this show go on sale today at 10 am and cost around $28. A night of fun sing alongs and highly visual songs will ensue.

-Also at the Wiltern, intriguing new rap group The Cool Kids open for seminal L.A. rappers Cypress Hill for a Halloween gig (October 31st for you non-pagans). Tickets are on sale today at 10am and are around $40.

-Andrew McMahon’s Something Corporate side project turned full time gig Jack’s Mannequin has scheduled a night at the Troubadour for your viewing and listening pleasure. Tickets for the October 27th show are on sale today at 1pm and are $27.

-Your cool friends’ favorite act The Faint are coming back to L.A. for a few shows. The band plays the Grove in Anaheim on November 3rd (on sale Saturday at noon for $30) and the Wiltern (on sale today at 10 am).

- In the “I still can’t see the big deal but people seriously love this artist” catagory, Mary J. Blige plays the Gibson Ampitheater with Robin Thicke on October 19th. Tickets are $60-$130 and are on sale… oh, hey, now.

- Apparently, Metallica can do whatever Metallica wants to do.  Tickets for the bands upcoming shows were supposed to go on sale last weekend, but apparently someone decided “You know what, let them wait a week” and tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. The band (whose album comes out today… geez, I wish KROQ would mention something about it) plays the Citizens Business Bank Arena on December 12th ($58-$78) and The Forum on December 17th and 18th ($63-$83).

- It’s finally the weekend where all of those Hollywood Palladium shows go on sale, so if you have an extra couple of hundred dollars lying around you can purchase the following shows:

All tickets go on sale Saturday at noon.

-Rockabilly legends The Reverend Horton Heat comes back to the House of Blues- Anaheim in early 2009 with a show February 20th. Tickets are on sale Saturday at 10 a.m for $26. Also playing the Disneyland adjacent venue is the B-52’s on November 11th. Tickets are also on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. and will set you back around $68.

-British rockers Kaiser Chiefs play the Henry Fonda Theater on November 11th. Tickets are $26 and go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m.
