A breed of a uniquely opposite-attracted people, a scientist “into the wild and a humanitarian cosmo girl, I can officially call myself a perfect mud. I’m a “product of two intellectuals who shared both practical and romantic genes with me. I grew up in Europe, traveling around with my scientist dad and I've lived in USA for half of my life. And even though USA is my home, I'm more European than an American, going back to the roots of Catherine the Great and Christianity eras.
I have studied graphic design, business, public relations and journalism. Having traveled to and lived in more than 14 countries, I’ve always been a sucker for culture and nature. I live by new experiences and challenges. I would read anything from Dostoyevsky (in original, I must add) to US Magazine. I walk and breathe with passion for life and people. Little things can make me happy. I see the leaves change – and I’m happy. I see Tuscany blooming – and I’m happy. I smell my grandma's homemade pies – and I’m happy. Ok, you get the point.
I speak Russian, German and a little bit of French. I have worked in fashion, advertising, marketing, publishing, film production and public relations. And it does not end here.

If it was as simple as choosing a jeans by a wash and/or a length, a pocket and a belt line – we’d be wearing any brand from H&M and Victoria Secret (from $29 to $59) to Rock and Republic (from $159 to $220.) But it is not that simple. We are buying more than just a denim cloth – we are buying the lifestyle, personality.
I thought it was just me, who rated “butt-fitting” as the most important influence factor in the shopping process for jeans, but the more I thought about it and the more I observed – I was finally able to confirm that I was far from being unique and particular in my “jeans shopping” and “jeans behavior” – we all do it - men and women.
The other day I was browsing through a rack of “one-of-a-kind” jeans at a second-hand store, Crossroads Trading Co., when I happily went into a fitting room and heard a guy say, “Let me see how your butt looks in this pair of jeans. Um, no, your butt looks sexier in the jeans you tried before. It looks more firm and defined.”
So here you go the best West Hollywood “jeans” locations for both men and women :

Coming to Blockbusters and Netflix on February 26. If you want the “early bird” special, you can buy the DVD on both Amazon and eBay for $19.99 (international shipping from UK applied). If you are a big fan of the British cinema from late 1990s to today’s day and you keep Love Actually, Notting Hill, About a Boy, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Bridget Jones Diary in the most visible and reachable area of your house – then there is no excuse for you to miss the next hot and happening import from the United Kingdom.
Death at a Funeral is not only funny, but it’s witty and wicked. It is not, by no means, a comedy of action – a so-called slapstick comedy in the likes of Charlie Chaplin or Mr. Bean, but it will have your laughing with it’s dry English humor. The films does an amazing job of turning a tragic event, such as death, into a light comedy. The film has all the British aspects that we all love, left-hand driving, rain, cigarettes, bad teeth, amazing countryside and proper diction. And that’s what we love the Brits for! Seriously, I felt like packing up and moving to the country side of Wales…Sheep and Bourbon, here I come!

Five Reasons of Your Headache.
No, it’s not the traffic jam, which I would rate number one reason for my daily headache. However, as much as exhaustion and stress are the most typical explanations for our headache, there more and we might have not a clue about them. Smells, weather, food, what you wear on your head, and sex all effect how your head feels.
The question we all have, how should we get rid of this headache, besides consuming a daily dose of Advil?
PERFUME
Having a sharp sight – it’s an obvious plus, but what about a sharp sense? Most likely it is a minus. Apparently the “owners” of a sharp sense suffer a great deal from their sense “talent” – sharp senses of any kind, from perfume to dog’s poop lead to very strong headaches, even head-spinning and nausea. This can last anywhere from a few minutes to a day. The strong aromas activate the nervous cells of the nose that irritate the overall nervous system, and what’s worse, the most pleasurable scents act on the sensitivity the worst.

AskMen.com says it’s almost impossible for a man to stay in a long distance relationship. However, some of my male friends disagree. Extent of the sacrifice would depend on whether you have someone you are willing to sacrifice your libido and mojo for. It is possible, but the dilemma is – how do you keep it alive and is there a time-frame?
For most of us, at least once in our lives we experience a long-distance relationship and in most cases it does not work. I know people who would argue with me about this and say at the end it worked for them. Now, I want to know how they kept it alive? I know how it has been for me in the past few months. It’s tough to know you care and desire someone who is far. Coping everyday with the fact that you come to an empty house with no one to share your everyday happy and sad moments and with no one to fulfill your physical needs takes a strong set of mind and will power. The strength to get up the next day with a same desire to make the relationship work. Most people give up after a few weeks or at most a few months. [Read more →]

The dilemma of a getting a Valentine’s Day apple to women as much as men; women strive to be original, fun and unexpected in a gift choice. Chocolate, various heart-shaped objects, from heart-candies to heart-colored lingerie, it’s a gift that gives on giving, but is it exciting anymore? Not sure if it is.
As much as all ladies love chocolate, it’s more applicable on lonely horny nights, but if you are with someone already – why the need? Unless you are into melting-chocolate activities and a late-night-early-morning bubble bath foreplays, choose some other, more original and fun, gifts for your Valentine. Even if it means showing up wearing nothing but a trenchcoat and high heels – that’s a “gift” for him (he does not see you do it on a daily basis, does he?)

This is my way to introduce a weekly “Ins and Abouts” West Hollywood column, which will highlight (or not) places to see (or not to) in West Hollywood – the home to me and my Scotish Fold.
There is nothing like a sexy “after-party” with your Valentine - be it a girlfriend, a wife, or a friend with benefits – it’s all good (no one said you should be alone on the Valentine’s.) After you are done with the romantic dinner, gazing into each other’s eyes, feeding each other chocolate “hearts” and discussing the next “step” of the relationship, I say, move on to sexy action (unless it’s first date and you have your three-week “policy.”)

Having seen enough depressing movies, I’ve decided to leave my handkerchief at home and see an upbeat (a bit unrealistic, but sweetly encouraging) chick flick – 27 Dresses.
I put on my sweats, Ugg boots and ignored make up. Who were I kidding, it was not a night to dress and impress. It was a night to spend with myself and only myself.
In the role of Jane, Katherine Heigl, the once small TV screen actress from “Grey’s Anatomy” impressed me with her first leading lady role on the big screen. She was not a disappointment, as I expected based on my own preconceived notions after watching the preview. On the contrary, Katherine was rather refreshing and I’d even dare say – her performance was as good as the one of a two-time Oscar’s winner, Hilary Swank, in PS. I Love You. I’d give a high-five to Anne Fletcher for hiring Heigl for the role. She was natural, believable and funny while still dramatic (similar to Jennifer Aniston? - you get the point.)

It comes with the age, territory, lifestyle, career standing and peer influence. When I was younger (not that I’m old now…but when I was single and fabulous and leaving in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris, Moscow and New York, that is…) I loved open relationships.
Think: Carrie, Miranda, Samantha…
People call them “no strings attached” relationships, “f*ck buddies” or “friends with benefits”, but whatever name they go by, for most men they are hard to pass up — there is something intensely satisfying about being able to ring up a girl at 11PM, and be having sex with her at 11:30, and then be saying goodbye to her by 12:30AM. Same goes for women. Is it not fabulous, to ring up a man; tell him you are wearing nothing and that you want him NOW.
