I know this is a touch dated, but if you’ve seen it once you’ll want to see it again. This is… well… it’s a bit disturbing to anyone who was raised with the Muppet’s. Actually it’s disturbing to anyone who who thinking jerking off puppets is wrong, which I hope is most people.
It’s amazing what a few well placed BLEEPs can do…

Literature Then and Now: Vladimir Nabokovâs Lolita
August 11th, 2008 Written by: Marissa Tinloy · No Comments
Lolita. Lo-lee-tah. (”Fire of my loins?”).
Fifty-three years after the original publication of Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita, the scandalous work maintains its aura of notoriety and, for many readers (or abstaining readers), even just the title Lolita still represents the illicit in modern literature. In this controversial work, Nabokov writes beautifully decorously, decadently, repulsively? about, in an admittedly cursory interpretation, a middle-aged pedophile’s sexual obsession with his twelve year-old stepdaughter and the specie of nymphets in general.
Since the novel’s original publication in 1955 by the French Olympia Press, Nabokov’s work has continued to surface in and inspire other artistic productions. For example, Azir Nasifi’s Reading Lolita in Tehran was published in 2003, Nabokov’s Lolita serving as the memoir’s namesake. Likewise, in 1958, Stanley Kubrick produced the first Lolita movie, advertising with the pertinent question: “How did they ever make a movie of Lolita?,” and, in 1997, Adrian Lyne’s cinematic version starring Hollywood stars, such as Melanie Griffith and Jeremy Irons.

Internet Awesomeness: I Met The Walrus
August 9th, 2008 Written by: Liana Aghajanian · 1 Comment
In 1969, 14-year-old Jerry Levitan snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room in Toronto and was granted access by the Walrus himself to do an interview about peace. Levitan, who was (and still is) a Beatle’s fanatic, used a reel-to-reel tape deck to record the interview, which he says lasted about 40 minutes. Thirty-eight years later, Levitan produced a film about the interview, using the original recording as a soundtrack. The end result is a truly amazing piece of work that you must see. Directed by Josh Raskin, with the pen work of James Braithwaite and digital illustrations by Alex Kurina, this video will not only make you nostalgic, but will astound you. The fact that the biggest name in music at the time met up with a teenager for an interview about peace is just astonishing. It makes you wonder how the world you have been different if Lennon was still in it. See how Jerry Levitan met the Walrus.
He didn’t stop the interview, I stopped it. I realised at one point that I couldn’t talk to him forever. That’s how kind he was and sensitive to the fact that I clearly was a kid who loved him and needed to talk to him. He accommodated me completely and generously and sweetly. And they didn’t throw me out after that.
