  This machine is supposed to be for people who need marijuana to help with a what is usually serious ailment like cancer. Given that fact, I would not like to be the first person to use this machine and would prefer to buy weed else where any day.

  And if I did need to use this machine I would consider myself lucky if I had the opportunity to tell my grandkids about it in person.

  What a dumb statement, it is people like you that shouldn’t be allowed to write articles like this.
  As Scott Marsh said, this is for people who are sick.
  A non-critical condition medical patient would never use this machine, they would much rather see a selection of different strains and types of THC, only in an emergency would this be used by a regular smoker who has no serious ailments.
  unless they are idiots, like the person who wrote this article.
  If you must continue to post articles about this sort of thing, please do your research, and stop making medical weed users look like a bunch of immature teenage pot smokers who think smoking pot makes them cool.
  If I was to ever use this machine, my condition will have made sure I won’t ever meet my grandkids.

  (1) there are no “prescriptions” for marijuana in california, only recomendations, which are protected under state law.
  (2) with all of the dispenseries I’ve been to throughout the state, I have NEVER had to be fingerprinted.
  (3) what’s the point of an automated dispensery when you still need people there for security…

You can get a card for lots of reason, plenty of them are not life threatening diseases, christ insomnia or panic attacks are hardly going to stop you seeing your grand kids.   Dear Offended,
  1. Lighten up - are you aware of a thing called sarcasm or humor? Or is that too much for you to handle? Obviously that statement was made with a bit of jest.
  2. If you think this is only for cancer patients you’re a complete idiot. Most people carrying recommendations have eating problems, sleeping problems, or just don’t want to bother with smoking something illegal when it can be legal.
  3. This machine has all the options a store has, and a person who is using the stores to buy weed could just as easily use this machine. In fact for a nervous buyer of any age or condition this may be preferable. In fact cancer patients have nothing to hide, it’s all those touch and go recommendations that would want to keep the transaction as private and personal as possible. Has nothing to do with if they have cancer or not.
  4. I am far from a stoner. BUT I have done my research and although it is used for cancer patients and the seriously ill, it is also used for MANY other things. So I say to you ignorant man, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Who said anything about immature teenagers? These are well respected, hard working adults, looking for something that they have full right to have access to. I think you might be projecting a bit.
  5. I would be willing to bet that if you showed up Monday morning the people you see in line will NOT be near the edge cancer patients, but quite the opposite.

  So, lighten up, don’t say mean things because your computer can protect you and as William said…take a ride on the “fail boat”

  As for forging doctor’s signature, do you really think that the machine tries to read analog signatures? It probably reads a bar code or does OCR on a prescription number and then looks up the prescription in a remote database.
